Is there evidence for the resurrection of Jesus?

Yes! The resurrection of Jesus is basically a historical gold mine, and we can find plenty of evidence to show that the resurrection of Jesus is a reasonable belief.

Is Christian faith just blind faith in something you have no evidence for?

Despite the fact that I have heard many skeptics and those opposed to Christianity define faith this way, it is completely untrue. While some Christians very well may be unaware of the evidence, you can also find your way to Christianity by following evidence to its reasonable conclusion.

Do science and Christianity disagree?

Short answer is no. If you are a Christian, you believe God is Truth. Science is the pursuit of truth through observation of the material universe. If science is honestly carried out, then we Christians have nothing to fear from it. Honest pursuit of truth can only lead you to God, right?

Did God create the universe?

According to Christianity yes. One thing that is plain and clear from the beginning of the Bible is that God is the author of life and of the universe. Science is aware that the universe had a beginning. While scientists disagree on how the universe came about, one thing that every reasonable thinker must agree upon is that the universe had a beginning. Based on all available evidence, it is reasonable to say a supernatural force created all this nature we see around us.

Does God care about us?

YES! God loves us more than we can comprehend. God in Himself didn’t need to create anything, within Himself he is perfectly fulfilled. But because He is so overflowing with love, He decided to create creatures like humans for the sole purpose of loving them for eternity! How cool is that?

Is there good reason to be a Christian?

Rather than using the God of the gaps argument, Equipping Apologetics is set up to give you positive and persuasive reason to be a Christian. While you may not agree with everything we say, it cannot be reasonably denied that there is good reason to be a Christian.

Is the Bible trustworthy?

Both the Old Testament and the New Testament have been found by experts to be trustworthy. Details like names, places, events, stories have all been confirmed using non-Biblical sources. From outside historians at the time, to archaeological evidence, to study of ancient names all confirm the Bible’s accuracy. Even the 4 Gospels (the books written by people who eye-witnessed Jesus’s life on Earth) have been found to read just like you would expect eyewitness testimony to read. Supernatural details like miracles are often written off prior to even reading the Bible due to anti-supernatural bias, which would just be sloppy investigative work.

Does evolution disprove God?

No, for two reasons. One is that just because evolution is true, doesn’t mean God isn’t true. There are plenty of theistic evolutionists out there, and I love them all the same. The other reason is that macro-evolution is quickly falling apart. With no true examples of macro-evolution, and species of plants and animals that seem to come out of nowhere in the archaeological evidence, we can’t take evolution for granted anymore. In addition, evolution doesn’t explain how life got here, it just attempts to explain what happens once life showed up.

What is sin?

Sin is essentially rebellion against God. God created us to be in relationship with Him, as well as be stewards of His creation in His image. When we decide to go against God’s will in this way, it is called sin. God’s will in not arbitrary, but is the basis for morality and is ever perfect. His will is also in our best interest, and sin is in our worst interest. That is why God doesn’t want us to sin, it is bad for us and He wants what’s best for us.

What is apologetics?

Apologetics is the defense of the Christian faith. Using evidence such as philosophical, scientific, historical, archaeological, cosmological, and moral evidence, we can use it all to show that belief in the Christian God and the resurrection of Jesus is reasonable.

If a loving God exists, why is there so much evil?

This is one of the most popular questions about Christianity. God gives humans all free will, in order that we can freely choose to love Him. However, humans use this free will to commit evil as well (see sin). So while God never wants us to commit evil, He gave us free will, which we use to freely choose evil. There is MUCH more we can say about this, so see our article on God and evil for more.
